Tompkins, who had served as vice president of logistics at Beam since October 2001 now assumes responsibility for all plant operations, including manufacturing, engineering, quality systems and the development of cross-functional teams focused on process improvement and cost reduction. He also assumes the role of controller.

Tompkins came to Beam from Electrolux Home Products where he held the posts of Director of Finance, Plant Manager and Division Controller. Before coming to Electrolux Home Products, Tompkins served as controlle r and human resources manager for HON Industries, Muscatine, Iowa.
