| BLOOMINGTON, Illinois – December 12, 2005 -- John Coghlan has announced his plans to retire as president of BEAM Industries, a division of Electrolux Home Care Products North America, effective March 1, 2006.
A graduate of the University of Iowa, Coghlan joined BEAM on October 5, 1987 as vice president and general manager after holding a number of operations, marketing and logistics leadership positions with agricultural equipment manufacturer Massey Ferguson, Ltd.
In 1993, Coghlan was named president of BEAM and guided the company to global leadership in central vacuum system manufacturing, sales and marketing. Today, approximately one-third of the world’s
central vacuum systems are manufactured at BEAM’s Webster City, Iowa plant. BEAM-manufactured systems also hold the market leadership positions in the U.S., Canada, Europe, and countries around the world.
“During his tenure, John Coghlan built BEAM into the undisputed leader of the central vac business,” says John Case, president of EHCP. “Its products, dealer network and management team have been widely recognized for their industry leadership.
“John’s deep knowledge and steady hand will be missed,” Case adds.
Under Coghlan’s leadership BEAM Industries is implementing the Electrolux 3-brand U.S, marketing strategy for BEAM, Eureka and Electrolux central vacuum systems. All three central vacuum system brands are manufactured at BEAM’s Iowa production facility.
The Company recently announced that all sales and marketing efforts for these specialized, installed systems will be coordinated through BEAM Industries.
Coghlan and his wife, Marilyn, are relocating to Lake Panorama, Iowa where they plan to spend more time with the family and enjoy the recreational activities of the area.
ECHP will begin the search process for Coghlan’s successor immediately. |
